Expert in chlorine chemistry, Kem One specializes in the production of all the chloromethanes. Our chloromethanes are manufactured at our Lavéra site, in the direct vicinity of our chlorine supply sources.

These chlorinated solvents are synthesis intermediates and solvents used in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, water treatment and fine chemicals. They are also used throughout the fluorinated chain.

Applications

Each of the four chloromethanes we produce is designed to meet specific and distinct applications.

METHYL CHLORIDE (MeCl)

Mainly used in the manufacture of silicones, methyl chloride is also used as a synthesis intermediate in the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater, in the synthesis of vanillin and in the manufacture of methylcellulose.
METHYLENE CHLORIDE (DCM)

Versatile organic solvent with a wide range of industrial applications, it is widely used in the pharmaceutical, industrial and fine chemicals sectors. Its dissolving capacity and low boiling point make it an excellent extraction agent to produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient. Methylene chloride also plays a crucial role in the manufacture of adhesives and polyurethane foams.
CHLOROFORM (CFM)

Mostly used worldwide in the manufacture of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), it is also used as a solvent in the production of pharmaceutical products. PTFE, with its chemical and thermal resistance and low-friction properties, is an indispensable material in many fields (industry, aeronautics, etc.), enhancing the performance and durability of products and systems.
CARBON TETRACHLORIDE (CTC)

Today, it plays a key role in the synthesis and production of fourth-generation refrigerants, HFOs (hydrofluoroolefins). These innovative solutions combien outstanding efficiency with a drastically reduced envrionmental footprint, offering near-zero impact on the ozone layer and a much lower gloabl warming potential compared to previous generations (CFC / HCFC / HFC).
