E-PVC Production plant
The Hernani site, built in 1949, was the first PVC plant in Spain. It is dedicated to the production of emulsion PVC, also called paste PVC, used in many different applications and sectors: floor and wall coverings, synthetic leather, mastic for the automotive and construction sectors, conveyor belts, tarpaulins, toys, gloves, etc.

All levels of qualification are represented amongst the 70 people on the plant, as well as a wide range of professions: manufacturing operators, design and maintenance technicians, chemical engineers, administrative personnel.

Along with other KEM ONE plants, the site at Hernani is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. It therefore guarantees to each one of its customers that all products will be of a consistent and impeccable quality, but will also be more environmentally-friendly and demonstrate a more sustainable approach to the use of natural resources.

The Hernani plant maintains regular communication with the surrounding communities. Plant visits, meetings with local residents and groups, participation in professional exhibitions, organising events in partnership with educational groups. Many opportunities to promote better reciprocal knowledge and create sustainable trust.
SAFETY & PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AS A TOP PRIORITY
Its foremost concern is people and equipment safety. Like each of KEM ONE’s entities, its management system is evaluated by external audits based on international standards. Its ISO 14001 certification confirms the site’s commitments towards a greater respect of the environment and natural resources.
The site facilities’ technology is famous and allows reaching very low VCM discharge levels. Hernani is nowadays a reference plant for energy consumption, and in line with European Union’s best available technology.
Thus, the site’s effluents are entirely treated: recyclable material is recovered and re-used. The full sewage treatment allows for a total purification of used water.
